THE Ospreys haven’t lost a Pro12 derby under Steve Tandy, a run that stretches back 15 games and 33 months to January 6, 2012, when the Dragons prevailed 21-20 at Rodney Parade.
Ahead of the joust with the Blues in Swansea on Sunday, here are the details of all those successes.
1) Blues 12-33 Ospreys, Cardiff City Stadium, April 14, 2012
Trailing by 12 points at the break, the Ospreys hit back under new coach Steve Tandy to claim the game with 27 unanswered second-half points, including tries from Alun Wyn Jones, Adam Jones and Tom Smith.
2) Ospreys 31-12 Dragons, Liberty Stadium, April 20, 2012
It was billed as Shane Williams’s farewell game — events soon contradicted that — and a crowd of 14,478 saw the great wing race in for a final-minute score, speeding past Taulupe Faletau as he did so. The try helped seal a fourth consecutive win for the Ospreys, who were en route to the Pro12 title.
3) Scarlets 16-23 Ospreys, Parc y Scarlets, September 21, 2012
The Ospreys had started the season with three straight defeats, prompting one TV pundit to suggest they could ship 40 points against the Scarlets if they didn’t improve. But Ryan Jones came off the bench to swing a tight game the visitors’ way, scoring a 72nd-minute try before Hanno Dirksen went over as well, with Richard Hibbard outstanding.
